Celebrate the lifeblood of local sport as we shine a light on the volunteers, coaches and supporters of sport who boost our region's morale, mental wellbeing and sense of achievement.

Everyone knows an unsung hero — the selfless secretary who makes things tick, the inspirational coach who's encouraged generations of athletes to chase their dreams or the fundraising powerhouse who fills the coffers and keeps your team in the news.

Every two years Sport Newcastle invites applications from our friends across the region telling us all about the community champions and sports-mad forces of nature who deserve a well-earned pat on the back — and a night out on us celebrating the positive power of sport alongside like-minded movers and shakers.
